Here's the latest version of plum's MP3Player plugin, a nifty app that allows you to listen to your favorite MP3 tracks while on game mode. Plum's release of the app is basically an updated version of the old music.prx plugin, but with some added features and enhancements. Tagged as version 3.3, the latest update of the brew is a bug fix release to resolve some issues from the previous release.

Easy 6.20 Installer v1.3 (Tool)

6.XX Downgrader v4 (Tool)

Developer someone just released an updated version of his downgrader. This version now supports OFW 6.60.

Important Note: This Kernel Exploit was NOT found by me. It was handed to me by Zecoxao, and it was handed to him by Davee.
Another Important note: You run the application at your OWN risk. I am not held accountable if you screw up your PSP.

Allows any updater that is greater than or equal to the factory installed OFW (Has not been fully tested, will most likely work on 500 and up)

This tutorial is for people that want to downgrade to 6.20/6.35
[This downgrader only works on firmwares 6.31 / 6.35 / 6.38 / 6.39 / 6.60]
(Note: If you are on 6.61 or higher your out of luck)

To start select your PSP to download a OFW: (Note: This is OFW 6.20 because a HEN is available for it)

Extract the rar file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a file named EBOOT.PBP.

1: Using your PC, create a folder named "PSP". Within the "PSP" folder, create a folder named "GAME". Within the "GAME" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE". (Folder names must be in all uppercase letters).

2: Copy the EBOOT.PBP you downloaded to your UPDATE folder.

Now you have to download a downgrader to downgrade your PSP's firmware to 6.20 OFW.

(This downgrader works only for 6.31 OFW / 6.35 OFW / 6.38 OFW / 6.39 OFW / 6.60 OFW)

To start

Now extract 6.xx Downgrader.zip file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a folder named PSP open it up and you will see a folder named GAME open that up and you will see a folder named 6.xx Downgrader v4

Now copy the 6.xx Downgrader v4 folder to your PSP GAME folder.

3: To start the update data. Select either (Memory Stick) or (System Storage) under (Game) from the home menu, and then select . Press thebutton to start the update.

Then you will see this message. Now you laugh at SONY and Press the button on the downgrader.

After the SONY updater is finished you will get a BSOD, all you have to do is press button

Warning! Warning! Warning!

If your PSP's motherboard module is 07g/09g, this means you can only downgrade to 6.35 OFW. To find out if you have 07g or 09g you have to download PSP Module Checker v1.0.

To start

Now extract ModuleCheckerv1.zip file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a folder named PSP open it up and you will see a folder named GAME open that up and you will see a folder named ModuleChecker

Now copy the ModuleChecker folder to your PSP GAME folder.

Now run ModuleChecker from the PSP XMB [Game], the program will tell you what module you have.

Here is 6.35 OFW just follow the same instruction as 6.20 OFW, all you do is use 6.35 OFW instead.

Game Categories Lite v1.4 for 6.60 (Tool)

This plugin allows you to categorize your games/homebrews on your PSP.

This plugin is based and uses source code from Game Categories Revised v12 (GCR) and Game Categories Light v1.3 (GCL), both created by Bubbletune. Compatible with 6.20, 6.3x and 6.60 CFW.

I changed the name of the project (doing a fudge in the process) to avoid confusion with GCL (this plugin doesn't use the folder categories present in firmwares 6.xx) and GCR (the plugin is based heavily in GCL since it doesn't use a kernel/user approach).

You can configure the folder prefix (use CAT_ for folders or not), showing uncategorized content and change the category mode in system settings.

If you want a translation of the visible options then edit the file category_lite_en.txt and save it using the language code that first you (e.g. "es" for spanish).

Note: you must use UTF-8 encoding for the translation files (without unicode BOM).

Languages supported: "ja", "en", "fr", "es", "de", "it", "nl", "pt", "ru", "ko", "ch1", "ch2"

CXMB v2 For All CFW/LCFW (Tool)

Developer Frostegater, port CXMB Plugin, to neur0n´s CFW 6.60 ME. With this plugin, wee can use CTF files, and works with all CFW/LCFW, start with 3.71 CFW to CFW 6.60 ME.

HOW TO INSTALL

1. Download & Extract to the desktop or anyplace u want.
2. Copy CXMB folder to the root of ur MS. Overwrite if is necessary.
3. Put some themes (CTF files), inside the THEME folder (/PSP/THEME).
4. If is the first time that u use this CXMB, don´t forget to add the line in the files VSH.TXT, better if this line is the first in the file.

ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1 or ef0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1 (PSPGo).

PSP CFW 6.39 Team-Nom HEN (CFW)

Team-Nom aka Nommy who has decided to release their first PSP CFW known as PSP CFW 6.39 Team-Nom HEN to the homebrew community. They had stated they had tested on PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 models, But can’t confirm for PSP 3000 and or PSP Go System. This new PSP Custom Firmware 6.39 is full with some pretty cool features already found in other PSP CFW HEN release such as psx support which the developer claims run all PSX Game smoothly. A vhs, a auto plugin enabler and a if course a psn update bypass according to the developer. Wee had not tested this nor could confirm that it does work. However, Wee do ask users who tend to run this to make sure to have a Pandora Battery in Handy just in case something goes wrong. Remember that installing a PSP CFW into your PSP will void your PSP Sony Warranty so be careful.

CFW 6.20/6.35/6.39 Pro-B8 v3 Fix

Attention
This program is likely to brick your console. Please follow the instructions out.

Team PRO put online the final version of their Custom Firmware 6.xx PRO-B8 . However, the first online version contained bugs and was quickly updated. Despite this, some users still face problems bothersome, such as the inability to install any custom firmware , the installer freezer (blocking the PSP , which will go out later) at startup.

Thus landed a second patch from the PRO Team, which is, remember, made up of Virtuous Flame (Chinese), Coldbird (European), Neur0n (Japanese) and NPT (American).

INSTALLATION
*STEPS*(for 6.20 pro b8)
1. Download the file below(for your psp)
2. Open it and plug in your psp
3. Put the Perma patch and the Pro update in your game folder(ms0:/psp/game)
4. Go to your psp and run the pro update then the patch

Coder Ardi, release an Xtended HEN 6.39 TN-A of Total_Noob developer. This one, has all the characteristics of the original HEN, but with some fixed bugs and a few news things. The new development is that has a Iso aLoader integrated, so wee don´t need anymore to load a plugin.

What does it do?
Allows users who are incontent with their firmware to downgrade to 6.20 using the Sony Updater.

How do I use it?
Copy the "PSP" folder to your PSP. The downgrader is "signed" and can be launched from OFW XMB. You need to copy the 6.20 update to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP and for PSPgo it must be the eflash it is placed on. After setup run the downgrader and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you have anything lower than an 07g place the 6.20 update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE.
If you have an 07g or an 09g, place the 6.35 update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE.

[What does it technically do?]
6.20-6.35: It uses the utility/power exploit to gain kernel access and reboots into the updater with a special PRX running. This PRX uses the pspdecrypt functionality to decrypt the updater PRX when needed. This allows the updater to boot in the newer firmwares.
6.38/6.39: It uses my http_storage exploit to gain kernel access. Basically, http_storage has a vulnerability in it, where I can write -1 to anywhere in memory. (I'll make a post to explain it more in-depth soon)

Now that was fast. Hot on the heels from the release of the offical PSP firmware 6.39, homebrew coder some1 comes back on the scene to release his modified downgrader for the said firmware, allowing users to once again enjoy the benefits of firmware 6.20 and 6.35.

Developer's note:
This is a 3.xx+ kernel app to display Tachyon, Baryon and Pommel version numbers of your PSP's motherboard.
It also displays the PSP model (TA-079, TA-081, etc.) and overall PSP version based on this data.

Just copy the PSPident folder to your GAME/GAME3XX folder and run it. If you want, it will also run in the 1.50 kernel.

NOTE: If your PSP is detected as a TA-085 v2/TA-088, it one of the newest Slim revisions which cannot write to the battery serial and therefore cannot be used to create a Pandora battery!

Information about the numbers printed:

Kernel version - internal version of the current kernel you are running the app on (could be either 1.50 or 3.xx if you're using OE/M33)
Tachyon - this seems to be the version of the chip which contains the CPU, ME and GPU.
Baryon - this is the version number of your PSP's Syscon (system control) chip
Pommel - the PSP's GPIO/watchdog which handles system events and shuts down in the event of a crash
Kirk - the PSP's main decryption/verification chip
Spock - secondary decryption chip, only used to decrypt data from the UMD discs

Wee have been all waiting for something like this!

PSP Developer someone has today published its PSP OFW 6.38 Downgrader to contribute to the Genesis Competition!

The downgrader works on a original 6.38 FW (HEN or CFW is not needed to downgrade!) and you can downgrade to Firmware 6.35.

It supports all PSPs (1000, 2000, 3000 and PSP) except 07g/09g (newer = 3000).
Support for 07G and 09G will be added later by downgrading the PSPs to OFW 6.35 instead of OFW 6.20.

I present to you my port of Davee's 6.35/6.31 downgrader to 6.38.

This plugin allows direct reading and loading of DLC (EDATA/PGD/SPRX) files in their decrypted form, so you don't need to reactivate your account and/or switch between them while using your purchased DLC from different regions. You can mix decrypted/encrypted files without problem too, the plugin takes care of that.

Instructions:
Copy the plugin in the seplugins folder and enable it in game.txt using the following
line: ms0:/seplugins/nploader.prx 1

Tested on 5.00, 5.50, 6.20, 6.35, 6.37 and 6.38 CFW (6.20/6.35 Pro is recommended).

Known issues:
* Do not mix with the noDRM implementation of Pro CFW. If you are using one of them then disable the other.
* If you have user-mode plugins and/or plugins that launch user-mode plugins (xlinkaid/xlinkaiduser as example) make sure that those are loaded before nploader (you can do this changing the order of the plugins in game.txt)

F.A.Q:
How i can decrypt my EDATA/SPRX files?
Do it yourself, isn't that hard. Besides, there aren't any public DLC decrypters yet.
This plugin allows me to use encrypted DLC files from another PSP?
No, while the files remain encrypted they are tied to the account and device that downloaded the file. The plugin only loads data, it can't decrpyt it.

While I’m not 100% clear, mainly because of the poor Google Translation, it seems v1.975 can NPDRM EBOOT.BIN/ISO game files, disguising them as downloaded PSN content, letting you load ‘em up … possibly without HEN or CFW? And that’s what I’m not clear on.

Those who want to try out the new feature can follow these steps:

Press [Triangle] to bring up the SYS MENU
Select “Make fake_np data File.”
Browse to and press [Cross] on a (legit) downloaded PSN game
Select “Yes” to start the process
When it’s done browse to your ISO directory
Press [Cross] on whatever ISO
Select “Convert fake_np”
Select the PSN-downloaded game title created in steps 3 & 4
Let it process… Time will vary depending on ISO size

JPCSP v0.6 r2105 PSP Emulator for PC

Jpcsp is the most advanced PlayStation Portable emulator, allowing you to play your PSP games on a PC.
Jpcsp has been started in July 2008 and is developed by a small but active team.

Jpcsp SVN r2105 is released. JPCSP is a PlayStation Portable(PSP) emulator which is written in JAVA. JPCSP is the first PSP emulator that is written in JAVA. Most people think java is too slow. But Shadow and his team has proven us wrong. The newest Java versions are almost as fast as C which makes it very interesting for emu dev's. Shadow and his team are working day and night with pleasure on the emu, many coders have dedicated to the project. Because it's written in java many young devs find it interesting to learn how the emulator works.

PRXUnbricker is program for PSP which can UNBRICK your PSP. This is only for SEMIBRICKS.

How to Repair index_0Xg.dat:

1. Download PRXUnbricker
2. Open and extract files from RAR
3. Go to RECOVERY Menu and select "Toogle USB"
4. Copy folder PSP to ms0:/
5. Copy folder index_0Xg.dat to ms0:/seplugins
6. Disconnect PSP from PC
7. In RECOVERY Menu select "Run Program at ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP"

Informations for Permanent Flash Users:

* Pressing R while booting loads the recovery.
* Pressing Select while booting loads OFW.

First, you need to install CFW or HEN(ex. 5.00M33 , 6.20TN ) in your PSP.

2. Put 6.37 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/637.PBP .

3. Run installer from xmb.

He fixed some Bugs and added many new functions.

ISO Tool Launcher is no longer used. Now use your own.
ISO-path is now customizable (more below)
It can be 2 different ISO-paths (possibly go-owners conduct the second path on the M2 stick)
Compatible with Game Categories Light
Game Categories Light is used when the categorized ISOs
Variable category for all un-categorized ISOs

Installation:

From version 1.0, the installation has changed somewhat. All necessary files are located in the "aload". The point where you can grab you like. My recommendation copied to the folder "seplugins".
In the archive you will find _vsh.txt Also, _go_vsh.txt _game.txt and _go_game.txt. Rename the files to vsh.txt vsh.txt and game.txt to or copied if the contents into the existing and game.txt.
If it saves the aload folder elsewhere, then you must also adjust the paths corresponding setting.

Settings:

As I mentioned in the changelog, I use a separate launcher. This saves the driver mode. To switch to the M33 mode: just think at the start Shultertaste the left (L-TRIGGER) key. From now on, the game always started in the M33 mode. To get back to switch on the NP9660 mode,: hold the right shoulder button (R-TRIGGER).

aLoader.conf

New is the file in aLoader.conf aload folder. Here you have 4 options:
e.g.
iso_path = ms0: / myISOs /
iso_path2 = ms0: / extraISOs /
will show, and starts ISOs, which are located in these folders.
There are also two category options. More on that.

Light Game Categories

A lot of work I put in the category support. aload detects whether you have activated the "Game Categories Light" plug-in and automatically switches to the category mode. If the work does not have time or want to switch off the mode, then in the option aLoader.conf force_categories.
force_categories = 0
switches the mode
force_categories = 1
switches the mode to always (without the "Game Categories Light" plugin then you will get "corrupted data")

As games are categorized?

To do this you have 3 options

1. just place the ISO folder to the appropriate subfolder.
2. appointed by the ISOs in the form "MeineCategory@datei.iso" around. Everything up to "@" then the categorylink
3. for the 3rd Way you use the aLoader.conf again. with for example "Default_category meineISOs =" is a category created "meineISOs. There are all purely ISOs which do not fall under Item 1 and 2.

It is not a problem categories to merge. If your e.g. a "real" category have applied to (eg / PSP / GAMES / CAT /...), the ISOs then you can for 'CAT' lane. There will be both "real" as well as the ISOs in the "CAT" category displayed.

Plans for Pro-C are already being made, and this will be the last closed source release of the 6.35 Pro CFW
Releases after Pro-C will be open source, and Coldbird announced this open source project might enter the PSP Genesis competition

Installation
1-Download 6.35 PRO-B and 6.35 PRO-B Fast Recovery
2-Extract both archives
3-Copy to 635PROUpdate and 635FastRecovery to PSP/GAME on your PSP
4-Run 6.35PRO-A Updater from Game-Memory stick on your PSP or PSP Go
5-Press X to install CFW. It'll ask you to Press X when it's done, Press X.
6-When it's done, go to Settings-System settings-System information. If it states 6.35 PRO-B then well done.
7-This CFW is temporary, so when you turn off your PSP, you're gonna need to reapply it by using Fast Recovery which you downloaded and copied earlier. Just run 635PRO Fast Recovery from Game-Memory Stick and you should be rocking back on 6.35PRO-B

You should be able to launch homebrew, plugins and ISO's now. ISO's go in ISO Folder in root of your memory stick or PSP GO internal storage ( Root is very first place you see once you open PSP or PSP GO drive on your PC ).If you don't have an ISO folder, then create one, all in CAPS.

3. pick the iso file
4. Go to ISO menu (mine uses O)
5. Create XMB ICON

Big news on the PSP scene today as Liquidzigong (aka Virtuous Flame) releases his PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A, a brand new custom firmware for PSP 6.35 owners.

How is this different from neur0n's 6.35 custom firmware? Well, to start, this one is said to support all types of PSP, including PSP Go, and the ability to run ISOs straight from XMB. Here's the complete list of features of the initial release (translated):

Head's up to the PSP homebrew community, Total_Noob has finally put online the long awaited update of his homebrew enabler for firmware 6.20. What's new in 6.20 TN-C HEN? Full changelog, right down below.

As researched by Coyotebean, Sony started enforcing using a public key method of verifying KIRK data and removing the ability to load the old types of data. As they did this, firmware 6.30+ cannot decrypt the updater and the PRX inside and therefore cannot use the index.dat spoofing to downgrade.

This application does the simple job of rebooting into the updater with a PRX that allows the updater to decrypt. A PRX that uses the pspdecrypt source and index.dat spoofing, nothing fancy.

So, I’ll stop blabering, here is the Readme:

Hellcat is back on the homebrew scene to release a new version of Recovery Flasher, a nifty app that allows you to restore semi-brick PSP's, upgrade and downgrade your CFW's, make and restore dumps, among other things.

First off, a small "what's NOT (yet?) supported": ANY kind of flashing on "newer 2000s", PSP 3000 or the PSPgo
If support for those models will ever, in any way be added to Recovery Flasher is doubtful (mostly as there's no CFWs for those).

MAYBE (and I can't stress the *MAYBE* enough, it's more likely a "likely not") support to flash OFW on (some of) those models might be added one day for the sake of downgrading the OFW.

Installation:

Copy the RECOVERY folder from the archive to /PSP/GAME/ on your memstick, so that you get a /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/ folder containing the apps EBOOT on your stick.

Now copy the official Sony 3.71, 4.01 and/or 5.00 Update EBOOT, renamed as 371.PBP (401.PBP, 500.PBP), into the RECOVERY folder as well, or into the memsticks root folder.

The Recovery Flasher will first look for the updater .PBPs in it's own folder, if it doesn't find them there, it'll look at the memsticks root folder and use the files from there if they exist.

That eay you can use already existing .PBPs you have (for DDC or whatever) for the Recovery Flasher as well.

Note:
The Recovery Flasher MUST be installed in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY!
Do not rename it's folder or it will fail loading!
If you have other apps you like to use from the recovery menu, you can do so with Recovery Flasher's option "Launch another app"

We have been watching Liquidigong’s twitter with interest and today Liquidigong released a signed 6.35 PRO HEN. Just one day after reporting he had signed the 6.35 HEN he has posted it for download only an hour ago from posting this.

This 6.35 PRO HEN can be run straight from the XMB menu on Original Firmware 6.35. So you bypass the Minna no Sukkiri demo exploit. No need to load tHBL first and then the HEN. Its much quicker this way.

Installation

Create a folder called 635PROHEN and place this eboot into it. Then move that folder with the eboot to the following location depending on your PSP model:

PSP3k – ms0:/PSP/GAME/635PROHEN/EBOOT.PBP

PSPGO – ef0:/PSP/GAME/635PROHEN/EBOOT.PBP

PSP coder Yoti is back in the homebrew scene to release a new version of PSPident, a handy homebrew application, originally coded by jas0nuk, that identifies the model of your handheld and displays all the necessary info about your PSP's motherboard. The latest update brings support to PSP Go and more.

Developer's note:

This is a 3.xx+ kernel app to display Tachyon, Baryon and Pommel version numbers of your PSP's motherboard. It also displays the PSP model (TA-079, TA-081, etc.) and overall PSP version based on this data.

Just copy the PSPident folder to your GAME/GAME3XX folder and run it. If you want, it will also run in the 1.50 kernel.

NOTE: If your PSP is detected as a TA-085 v2/TA-088, it one of the newest Slim revisions which cannot write to the battery serial and therefore cannot be used to create a Pandora battery!

Information about the numbers printed:
Kernel version - internal version of the current kernel you are running the app on (could be either 1.50 or 3.xx if you're using OE/M33)
Tachyon - this seems to be the version of the chip which contains the CPU, ME and GPU.
Baryon - this is the version number of your PSP's Syscon (system control) chip
Pommel - the PSP's GPIO/watchdog which handles system events and shuts down in the event of a crash
Kirk - the PSP's main decryption/verification chip
Spock - secondary decryption chip, only used to decrypt data from the UMD discs

Here it is, folks. This is what you've been asking for. A pair of Chinese PSP homebrew developers have released HENs for firmware 6.31 and 6.35.

The 6.31/6.35 HEN by 忠贞炙烈之炎 (Virtuous Flame) and Coldbird has been tested to work on a PSP-3000 by Wololo. There still seem to be compatibility problems when running homebrew but that's sure to be fixed by further revisions.

The 6.31/6.35 HEN requires the Minna no Sukkiri HBL.

OpenIdea ISO Loader updates released, now supports ISOs

Homebrew developer dridri has released a pair of updates for the OpenIdea ISO Loader app. With these versions, you don't need to convert your ISOs into Eboots anymore.

One is for use with the PSP-1000, 2000, and 3000 models while the other is for those with a PSP Go. Once you have the appropriate version for your PSP, just copy your ISOs to the "ISO" folder in the root of your memory stick. You can then find them under the Game menu in the XMB.

Compatibility, however, doesn't seem to have improved much. There are also some reports that indicate lag. If you run into any problems, check here for possible solutions.

6.20 TN-B HEN downgrading tutorials in video and text-only form

One of the big additions that Total_Noob introduced in 6.20 TN-B HEN is the ability to downgrade PSPs from OFW 6.20. Downgrading can be tricky, so to help those who aren't too familiar with how to do it here are a couple of tutorials.

Note: If you have a PSP Go, downgrading is not recommended.

This first one is a video tutorial from YouTube user kamenriderpsp. You'll need the following files for this:

6.20 TN-B HEN
HBL r109 for Patapon 2
Patapon 2 save game
Patapon 2 demo
5.00 version txt
Official PSP firmware 5.03

The 6.20 TN-B download already includes the first three items in the list above. You can get the Patapon 2 demo here, the 5.00 version txt here, and OFW 5.03 here.

If you'd rather go with a text-only tutorial instead of watching a video, here's one from PSP-Hacks. This involves using PSARDumper to make your own version.txt. You can download the latest PSARDumper release here. As with any downgrading tutorial, please be very careful when doing this as the possibility of bricking your PSP exists. If you're unsure of any of the steps, just stay on 6.20 TN.

Start 6.20 TN-B
Download the following files:

PSARDumper
The OFW (EBOOT.PBP) update that you want to downgrade to. PSP-Hacks has a comprehensive download list here.

Place PSARDumper in the PSP/GAME folder like you would any other homebrew and copy the OFW EBOOT.PBP to the root of your memory stick
Start PSARDumper and press circle
After the program finishes, connect the USB cable to your PSP and navigate to the folder F0, which should now be at the root of your memory stick
Copy /F0/vsh/etc/version.txt to /seplugins/version.txt
Go back to your PSP XMB and press select to bring up the VSH menu. Go to “Fake Index.dat” and change it to “enabled”. Next, select “restart vsh”
Copy the OFW EBOOT.PBP to “PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP”
On your PSP start the OFW installation as you would any other firmware update
After it finishes, the PSP will restart and a blue screen will appear saying that the PSP settings are invalid. Press circle and the PSP will restore default settings and restart. You now have OFW installed.

2011 is just hours away, and what better way for PSP homebrew fans to welcome the new year than by loading up a new version of Total_Noob's 6.20 HEN?

Yes folks, 6.20 TN-B has been released. One big difference from the original release is the addition of a bug fix for those with PSP-3000s, which means it should now work on all PSPs running OFW 6.20.

This version also comes with other major bug fixes and improvements to homebrew support and plugin compatibility. Here's the full changelog:

Fixed homebrew execution crash on some PSPs (thanks to HacKmaN for debugging)
Added PSP-3000 4g model support
Resolved some important NIDs
Added FAKE INDEX.DAT to TN VSH Menu.
Dump whatever firmware with psardumper.
Copy flash0:/vsh/etc/version.txt to ms0:/seplugins/version.txt.
Enable the option and restart VSH, now your PSP version is faked.
-> To downgrade just use a lower firmware EBOOT.

The archive below contains the HEN, homebrew loader and a Patapon 2 savegame. If you don't have a copy of the Patapon 2 demo, you can get one here.

unzip the Hen archive (download above) at the root of your memory stick
Run Patapon, click on “continue” and load the crafter savegame
When asked for it by patapon, click on “any button” to continue, then RTrigger
HBL should load the Hen, and return to the XMB. A message saying “Warning, memory leak!” might appear, this is normal, and won’t prevent the Hen from running
Once you’re in the XMB, press “select” to make sure the TN Hen menu displays correctly

Homebrew coder dridri has released the initial version of OpenIdea Iso Loader, an alternative solution to Liquidzigong’s Prometheus ISO Loader with a slightly different twist, it runs your ISOs directly from the XMB.

Installation:

1. Download the files Open Idea Iso Loader v1.1 beta 2 and Open Idea Eboot Builder and extract it.
2. Unzip the file Open Idea Iso Loader v1.1 beta 2 and put all the .prx-files in “ms0:\PSP\SYSTEM”. There is NO need to register these in the vsh.txt file
3. Unzip the file Open Idea Eboot Builder and take an ISO of your choice and drop it onto the “iso_packer.exe” that is the eboot converter.
4. After the program finished converting, put the EBOOT (that can be found in the same directory as the ISO it has been created from) on your MS like this “ms0:/PSP/GAME/anynamehere/EBOOT.PBP”
5. The converted ISO should now show up in the games section in the XMB.

Now bare in mind that this project is still on its early stage of development and you can expect some hiccups along the way. But the dev is actively working on fixing those issues in future updates.

A new version of Wololo's Half Byte Loader is now up folks, adding compatibility support to all firmwares up to 6.35, thanks to the recent sukkiri exploit. To quote the Wololo:

"I apologize in advance as I haven’t tested this release very thoroughly, but there it is, official support of all firmwares up to 6.35 for HBL."

psp-black-backWololo also revealed that from now on, he will not be supporting the Golf exploits. "I don’t know yet what the decision will be from the development point of view, but as far as binaries are concerned, I won’t release updates for the Golf exploit anymore. I strongly suggest to people on OFW 6.30/6.31 to migrate to the sukkiri exploit as soon as possible. As far as I know, this exploit will bring a higher compatibility rate than the golf exploit, the game being a bit more recent," he said.

The patapon exploit on the other hand is a different story. According to the dev, " for now I keep it at the latest R109 release, as I expect people using this exploit to quickly start using the HEN. And there’s no need to update HBL as long as the Hen starts fine :) (by the way, don’t mind the “memory leak” message when running the Hen through HBL, this is perfectly normal)."

Installation:

Download and install the Minna no Sukkiri demo on your PSP.
Copy the Sukkiri exploit (Savegame) and place it in your PSP/SAVEDATA folder
Copy the files from this archive at the root of your memory stick.
You should end up with a h.bin file at the root of your memory stick, as well as a hbl folder
Put some homebrews in your PSP/GAME folder.
Run the "Minna no sukkiri Demo" on your PSP.
When you reach the main menu, click on "continue" (second link, should be selected by default)
The Homebrew Loader should start, and show you a basic menu with a list of homebrews. click on "X" to start one

Troubleshooting/Bugs

The HBL is a work in progress. Known issues:
Some homebrews will not work at all
The HBL will sometimes crash before reaching the menu. In that case, just restart it

It's Christmas, the season for giving, and homebrew developer Liquidzigong has a great Christmas present for all PSP homebrew aficionados out there.

The dev has released a Prometheus ISO loader that works with the recently released 6.20 TN-A HEN from Total_Noob. As the name says, this will let you copy and play backups. And yes, that means you can use this to one up the official releases and play Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep on a PSP Go!

Here are the instructions to run the loader from wololo, who was asked by Liquidzigon to release it:

Put your ISO files in the ISO folder of your memory stick. Unzip the archive in your PSP/GAME folder. Run as any normal homebrew. For TN Hen users, you of course need to run the Hen before that.

If you want to use the M33 driver, you need a copy of isofs_500.prx which is not included in this package. You can get this file from the official firmware, by using PSARDumper.

You asked for it, you got it! Courtesy of Wally and salvy of the DaedalusX64 Team, here comes an early build of the Nintendo 64 emulator project for 6.20 TN-A users.

Salvy and I have been working on getting Daedalus working on the newly release Total Noob Homebrew Enabler (HEN)

It turns out that the higher 32MB of ram avaliable (of the 64 mb total) does not work on the PSP 3000 / GO or PSP's with higher firmware respectively.

Developer's note:

This release of DaedalusX64 is currently in beta stages of development.

As for the past releases of Daedalus PSP, this project is intended to show the potential for a N64 emulator on the PSP, but the current release has many missing features that make it far from usable:

* Many roms won't boot.
* Some roms have serious graphical glitches.
* Various roms have random lockups and crashes.
* Many roms run at a low framerate.

Having said all that, We believe most of these problems can be overcome in the near future.

Installation:

* Download the file to your computer
* Extract the file onto your hard drive
* Connect your PSP to the computer via USB
* Copy the folder from your PC to your PSP/GAME folder on the memory stick
* Unplug your PSP and locate the homebrew in your game folder to start

Just as promised folks, Total_Noob has delivered the goods for PSP users wishing for a wonderful Christmas as he releases his long awaited homebrew enabler for firmware 6.20, the much anticipated 6.20 TN-A.

A little refresher about the HEN or homebrew enabler, to quote PSPGEN, "HEN is a program to temporarily patch the RAM of the PSP. This patch disables several security established by Sony, and opens the door to the launch of a large number of homebrew, which can operate most functions of the PSP. HEN differs from one part of Eloader because it allows to run homebrew from the XMB, and secondly, the traditional custom firmware because we need to revive the HEN each time you restart the console."

Developer's note:

TN HEN allows you to execute homebrews and plugins. It includes a TN VSH Menu for some nifty features. It's similar to the Custom Firmware - without ISO/CSO and PSX support.

Requirements:

* A PSP with 6.20 installed.

Instructions:

* Install Patapon Demo & HBL on your PSP.
* Extract EBOOT.PBP to /PSP/GAME/HEN/EBOOT.PBP, or to /HBL/GAME/EBOOT.PBP if you want to launch it directly.
* Launch Patapon Demo and load exploited savedata (Continue).
* Now, it jumps into HEN mode.
* Enjoy homebrews and plugins (you'll lost HEN mode, if you reset/shutdown the device or if your PSP is crashed).

As stated by TN before, the homebrew enabler will not support any ISOs/CSOs, but several teams are reportedly working on game loaders to solve the problem.

There was a litlle bug in Custom Firmware M33-6 recovery menu.

When changing the option for version.txt, the options for Speed up MS access can be affected.

Therefore Dark Alex released a fix, the bugfix was too small for a complete new M33-7.

So he only released the recovery.prx for M33-7 :) and he only released it on the forums, which are now gone.

Just copy the recovery.prx to flash0:/vsh/module/ and click "yes" to override.

PSP homebrew coder extraordinaire wololo and his team is back once again in the homebrew scene to release a new version of their Half Byte Loader project, the open source Homebrew Loader for the PSP that allows you to play homebrews on any PSP, including the PSP Go, running on firmwares up to 6.20. Along with the release, the dev also announces wMenu for the said project.

Developer's note:
Just when you thought the weekend couldn’t get any better, here’s a new revision of HBL. It only fixes a few minor issues (mainly, a memory leak in some cases), but I wanted those fixes to be in before I announced my side project for HBL: wMenu.

We, the dev team of HBL decided to not accept bug reports for the menu as part of bugs of the HBL. This is why we moved the menu as a separate application, to allow the HBL project to be free of any user interface. This should allow several menus to appear in time, and this will allow users to choose the interface they like. wMenu is my humble contribution to this, and hopefully you’ll like it. From now on, I’ll include it in my “distrib” compiled versions of HBL. I will not include it in the dev version, because it is currently slower than the default menu.

wMenu is compatible with HBL 91 although HBL92 (or above, if you read this in the future) is recommended.

Developer's note:

"This new revision brings 2 major changes for the user: First, the menu is now a standard eboot. It means that if you are a homebrew coder, you can create your own menu with the usual SDK tools, and are not limited to the Patapon SDK anymore. Second, HBL is now able to come back to the menu once you quit a homebrew. This function is highly experimental for now, so don’t cry if the second homebrew you run doesn’t work as expected… This feature can be disabled by setting return_to_xmb_on_exit=1 in the file hbl/hbl_config.txt. I still recommend revision 85 for now if you are looking for maximum compatibility and performance, but revision 91 sure has some benefits."
